These awards are intended to foster the early career development of researchers with backgrounds in the physical/mathematical/computational sciences whose work addresses biological questions and who are dedicated to pursuing a career in academic research.

Eligibility criteria:

• Candidates must hold a PhD degree in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry (physical, theoretical, or computational), computer science, statistics, or engineering
• Candidates must have completed at least 12 months but not more than 48 months of postdoctoral training at the time of application
• Candidates must not hold, have accepted, or be in serious negotiations for a faculty appointment as a tenure-track assistant professor at the time of application
• Candidates who are not citizens of the U.S. or Canada must prove documentation of their visa status at the time of application
