July, 2010:  (Approximately) All research abstracts must be received at GCF Headquarters by this date to be eligible for consideration.
August, 2010:  (Approximately)  Researchers will be notified if their abstract has qualified to be considered for a full grant proposal.
September, 2010:  (Approximately) Full proposals due to GCF Headquarters.

Research should be focused around early detection, screening and basic translational research in ovarian cancer.

The following criteria should be considered when submitting an application:

a. GCF will accept one application per person per year.
b. Prior GCF grant recipients are not eligible to re-apply.
c. GCF will fund the best project applications, with priority
given to young investigators.
d. SGO members (Full, Candidate and Associate) who apply should be junior investigators, generally assistant professor
and below. Priority will be given to junior investigators.
e. Non-members of SGO may apply with a co-investigator who is a SGO member.
f. Significant overlap with existing funding is not permitted.
g. Abstracts should be written to allow a reviewer in translational gynecologic research to interpret the aims and methods.
h. Budget is not to be requested for the investigator’s time or effort. Budget for presentation/publication/travel is not allowed.
i. The grant can be portable provided a similar research environment is secured.
j. Research being done outside of the United States will not be considered for funding
k. All researchers must first submit a 250-word technical abstract for scientific review. The best abstracts will be invited to submit a full grant proposal, with a 250-word public abstract for donor review and press releases, using non-scientific terms.
