Awards will be for $125,000 for one year and, because it is an internal award, there are no indirect costs allowed. Fifty percent of the funds will be given at the time of the initial award, with the remaining funds being allocated at 6 months contingent on the project meeting established milestones. It is anticipated that two awards will be made.

LOI is due Tuesday, September 3, 2019. If selected, the proposal presentation will be Tuesday, October 15, 2019.

The UChicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation are pleased to partner to provide resources to accelerate bringing cancer discoveries to the market through a generous gift by the Duckworth family. Specifically, this award mechanism will support projects with imminent commercial promise, including those projects that are extending research with proven market viability and those which require limited funding to validate readiness for commercialization.

The Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator should be a member of the Comprehensive Cancer Center. We welcome applications which include collaborations with other University Divisions, Schools, or Institutes (e.g., Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Social Science Administration, Booth School of Business, Harris School of Public Policy, and Institute for Molecular Engineering).
